If you guys haven't seen it yet, we just posted a new video on the web-site. It's our attempt to explain the casting and our movement in 60 seconds.

Hi everyone,

We got a lot of good feedback at Comic-Con and on livejournal about our new shirts. :) Based on popular demand, we're investigating putting the shirts up for sale.

I'd like to do a little informal poll to get an idea of how much folks would be willing to pay for shirts. (see below :)

Poll #1437819 Racebending Shirt Sales
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: All, participants: 3

How much would you be willing to pay for a shirt? (US$)

What colors would you most want to see? (you can check more than one)

Please read this and tell your friends.

Paramount has whitewashed the casting of The Last Airbender. The Nickelodeon show was an American-born series starring a wide array of Asian characters in an Asian world.

The live-action film will feature white actors in all the heroic roles and Indians / Middle Eastern actors in the role of villains.

We have a black president, the US almost won an international soccer tournament, and still yellow people aren't allowed to be anything but male eunuchs and exotic geishas.

I want my nieces to grow up in a world where they might be able to aspire to star in Hollywood. I want my nieces to be able to see people like them in positive roles.

Please help. Spread the word.

And for folks going to Comic-Con, we have a volunteer application set up:

Okay.

You're right.

Ambition is the enemy of success.

New plan:

In the next week, get in habit of tracking calories and doing pull-ups.

Yesterday: 2445 calories. Target: 1500-2000 calories. Result: Oopsie.

Pull-ups: yes! Upgraded to 3 pull-ups every time I pass through hallway. :)

Once I get this habit down, I'll work on the myriad of others.

Okaaaay... not so awesome at my set goals.

Had friends over for dinner again on Sunday night. It was a lot of fun. I also jacked the 32" TV from my folks - I gave them a 40" for Christmas and the 32" was just sitting in the guest room... so I asked and they gave. Awesomeness. It's now sitting in my living room, ready for awesome.

I believe this means my apartment is all decked out. I unfortunately still have an extra couch sitting in the garage (if anyone wants it, let me know, we'll work something out).

In terms of my other life stuff, I'm going to try keeping track this way:

- Track pull-ups each day.
- Track push-ups each day.
- Track sit-ups each day.
- Track intervals each day.
- Track Japanese mp3s each day.
- Track thesis minutes each day.
- Track calories each day.

And I'll post the results here.

We'll see how this goes.

Task progress: terrible.

Failed to do ANYTHING on my task list. Instead, spent a lot of time with Dariane and had friends over for dinner last night. Dinner was super-fun (and FREAKING TASTY). I had:

1) Baked salmon, with pepper and garlic cheddar
2) Whole mushrooms, stuffed with sausage and bread crumbs
3) Velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting
4) Coconut macaroons
5) Home-churned caramel and nutmug ice cream, which when combined tasted exactly like pumpkin

Pros of this lifestyle:
- Awesome times with friends
- Incredibly happy stomach
- Happy girlfriend

Cons of this lifestyle:
- No progress at all on whole "getting a Master's" thing
- Still not learning Japanese
- Totally turning into a fatty

Okay, it's been two weeks since my entry on Feb. 26th about things I need to do, and I haven't really accomplished much.

1) Keeping job ---> been putting in more hours, but still not as productive as I should be.
2) Learning Japanese ---> No action.
3) Eat right ---> Been eating better and I'm tracking my calories during the day. Weekend and night counting hasn't been very good, though.
4) Exercise ---> Exercised last week, but not this week.
5) Do more fun things ---> Been hanging out with people, pretty much as usual. Got a lot of awesome furniture off craigslist for my apartment and my folks donated some dishware. Having people over for dinner tomorrow night.
6) Organize thoughts ---> No action.
7) Complete thesis ---> No action.

So here's this week's checklist.

1) WEDNESDAY: Splice Japanese mp3s together on WavePad tonight. Should take half an hour to forty-five minutes.
2) WEDNESDAY: Do six minutes of intervals on the bike.
3) THURSDAY: Do moderate-effort on the bike while watching TV, right before bed (after dinner).
4) FRIDAY: Before heading home, work on thesis for 30 minutes.
5) Starting SATURDAY, do 5 push-ups every time I leave/enter bedroom and 5 push-ups every time I leave/enter bathroom.
6) SUNDAY: Install pull-up bar in my room.

If anyone has a good organization planner/program thing, that would be good. Maybe I'll get a daily planner and do it pen and paper style.

I need to clear my head and write some stuff out.

I have a lot of goals right now and I need to keep them straight.

Here:

1) Keep my job.
  • Spend more weekend hours at work.
  • Be more productive while I'm at work.

2) Learn Japanese.
  • Listen to Japanese lessons on the way to work.
  • Cut pure Japanese conversation tracks and listen to them.
  • Start learning kanji again.

3) Eat right.
  • Have a grocery day for when I miss Farmer's Market on Sunday.
  • Stock my refrigerator up with good food (both at work and home).
  • Cook nights with friends. Tupperware the extra.

4) Exercise again.
  • Wake up 15 minutes earlier every other day.
  • Do intervals immediately upon waking up.
  • Get wraps for my hands so I can start doing pull-ups/push-ups again.

5) Do more fun things.
6) Organize thoughts better.
  • Find mind-map program.
  • Load more stuff into Mnemosyne.
  • Journal more.

7) Complete thesis.
  • Set time aside for thesis.
  • Spend 15 minutes every day on it.
  • Write and effect plan.

Need to work on (7)... need to focus on it once everything with my living situation is sorted out.
